Where to Stay Near Laurel River Lake
Laurel River Lake is 5,600+ acres of clear water in the Daniel Boone National Forest—swimming, boating, and fishing, with quiet coves and cliff-lined shores that keep guests coming back. If a lake day is the main event of your trip, here’s how our two properties, Laurel Lake Cabins and Corbin Cottage, stack up.
Laurel Lake Cabins — 5 Minutes from Grove Marina
Our four cabins (Dragonfly Retreat, Butterfly Nook, Moose Lodge, and Bear Den) are just 5 minutes from Grove Marina, with Holly Bay Marina and Spillway Beach also close by. This is the property to book if the lake is your main focus—there’s also an on-site catch-and-release pond for guests who’d rather fish without leaving the property, and groups can book multiple cabins together for up to 16 people.
Corbin Cottage — 15 Minutes from the Lake
Corbin Cottage is about 15 minutes from Laurel River Lake—a bit farther than the cabins, but still an easy day trip. It’s a one-bedroom rental that sleeps 2, and it’s more central to downtown Corbin and Corbin Arena, with a fenced-in yard for pets.
Marinas and Lake Access
Grove Marina offers boat rentals, slips, dry dock storage, and a grocery & deli, all just minutes from the cabins. Holly Bay Marina is a full-service option with boat and pontoon rentals and an onsite store. If you’d rather swim than boat, Spillway Beach near the dam is a guest favorite.
Moonbow Nights
Cumberland Falls and its famous moonbow are about 20 minutes from both properties, so a lake day and a moonbow night work well together—spend the day on the water, then head to the falls after dinner. Check our Moonbow Guide for 2026 viewing dates and tips.
Boat and Trailer Parking
Both Laurel Lake Cabins and Corbin Cottage have room to park a boat or trailer on-site, so you can load up and head to the marina without juggling parking somewhere else.
Restaurants Nearby
After a day on the water, downtown Corbin has solid options a short drive from either property—The Wrigley Taproom & Eatery, Brooklyn Brothers Pizzeria, and Smokey Bear’s BBQ among them. See our full Attractions page for the complete list with addresses.
Which One Fits You?
If the lake is the whole point of your trip, book a cabin—5 minutes to Grove Marina is hard to beat, and the on-site pond is a nice bonus if you’re not up for a full boating day. If you want easy lake access but also want to be closer to town and Corbin Arena, Corbin Cottage still gets you to the water in about 15 minutes.
